What is motivation? In terms of definition, motivation is the act or an instance of motivating, or providing with a reason to act in a certain way, the strong reason to act on something. When you are set to accomplish something motivation plays a key role. What motivates you? Is it the end goal that you are set on? Is it the hope of making something better? What drives your passion for success?

Write Out Your Plan And Your End Goal

While chasing a goal, it is not uncommon to get distracted and lose sight of it. If you are feeling lost, you must have a clear idea of what you intend on accomplishing. The best way to fix the idea of your goal into your mind is to write it down and read it every single day, especially when you are feeling discouraged. It will remind you of what you are doing and give you a refreshed feeling of motivation.

Don’t Compare Yourself To Others

People often lose their motivation when they compare their journey to the journey of someone else. This is unfair and unrealistic, but still one of the greatest hurdles that we face on our way to reaching our dreams. Instead, the smart thing to do would be to compare yourself to your past self. That is, instead of comparing yourself to others, compare yourself to the person you were yesterday. This will give you extra motivation, as you will be able to see that you are indeed getting closer to your goal.

Pace Yourself

Another enemy to motivation in the pursuit of your dreams is burnout. Many promising young people on their way to realizing their dreams have capitulated and given up due to burning out. It is best to work at a pace that is comfortable for you and to keep to a tight schedule. It is better to go little by little, day by day. This way, you keep your motivation intact in the long run.

Keeping your motivation levels high is a difficult task. However, it doesn’t need to hinder you in your journey. Just keep these tips in mind and stay vigilant when your motivation is low. They will help you get through the rough times and reinvigorate you!
